US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has expressed strong support for Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E), calling it 'absolutely essential' to the administration’s economic policies. The department, co-led by Elon Musk and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, aims to cut a third of the federal budget while maintaining key programs like Social Security. The initiative was announced by Donald Trump during an October 2024 rally as a centerpiece of his second-term agenda.
